MDA SHIELD

The Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (MDA SHIELD) is a massive, multi-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle featuring a maximum ceiling of $151 billion across a 10-year period of performance. Designed as a flexible, enterprise-wide mechanism, it enables the MDA and broader Department of Defense entities to rapidly issue competitive task orders and bypass traditional procurement delays. The vehicle explicitly funds agile engineering, prototyping, sensor integration, software modernization, and command-and-control enhancements. Its primary mission is to field advanced, multi-domain defenses against ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missile, and cyber threats in support of the Pentagon's comprehensive U.S. homeland defense and Golden Dome architecture.
